Imam meeting

raindrops on red leaves

You might think: "Yoga and Photography, what an odd combination." That combination is indeed not so logical, but I'll try to explain. It is not about taking taking photos whilst in funny yoga postures. It is about becoming silent inside after easy-to-do yoga & mediation and opening your awareness from that silence. It also involves to be present in the moment and capturing what you really see and what resonates within your heart, without interference of your thoughts or concepts as much as possible. Pure perception captured in a photograph.

Academic farewell lecture

loco mair pinning Royal Award on Professor H. Reinders
Yesterday I had the privilege to photograph the festivities around the farewell lecture of Hans Reinders, Professor Ethics at our Faculty of Theology. His family had organized a lot of festive activities during the whole day and on top of that the loco mair handed him a royal award for all his work.

From the archives: Beautiful Istanbul

Arabic
I was going through my hard drives last night because a colleague asked me yesterday if I had any photographs of muslims or the islam for a leaflet they need to make this week. Ehm well, most muslims don't like their picture taken but a couple of years ago I went to Istanbul on a citytrip with some friends and we visited a few mosques and of course the Topkapi palace. Maybe there were some suitable images in between all the holiday shots.

So last night I spent at the computer going through my archives looking for images of Istanbul. I found them in the directory of 2009! Isn't time flying?

The advantage of this was that I was enjoying and appreciating the beauty of this city again. And although I don't recall exactly where all of these images were taken, I do remember the relaxing atmosphere of the city and the friendliness of the people. Most people we met even spoke a few words of Dutch.
 Please enjoy the images.

Landing page

landing page www.danielleroeleveld.nl
Oh yeah, my Landing Page is online as of today! My friend Karin, who also designed my logo, designed this page. The Landing Page doesn't do anything, you can't click on any links, but it gives the vital information on how to get in touch with me and I get time to work on my proper website at the back office. So be patient, in a while my new website will be online. I am so excited.
