Contemplative workshop, day III: Texture

The third day of the Miksang Contemplative workshop was about texture. Meaning something tangible, something you would almost stretch your hand out to touch. That was a bit abstract at the beginning, but as I was getting into the flow, it became easier.

Here also: no story, no context, just texture.

Contemplative workshop, day II: Colour/color

On the second day of the workshop the theme was colour again. I was so disappointed, because I wanted to go on and not do the same thing over again. But apparently that was part of the learning process: have no expectations and the second time you do something you will do it better than the first time.

Colour, just colour. Again, no story, you don't have to know what it is. You need to have a flash of perception and that flash is about colour. After the initial eye exercises, I saw colour everywhere! Such a wonderful experience.

Contemplative workshop, day I: Colour/color

Today I went to my very first Miksang workshop. The world around us was cut up in larger fields of perception and on this first day we shot colour, no story, simply colour. It was harder than I thought, I tended to aim more for pretty pictures. Also, I didn't always know whether I had a flash of perception or not. It's a pleasure for me to see my own development on this path of contemplative photography.
