Kinky

I very much like window shopping. It doesn't cost me a dime and you can see that some shop retailers put a lot of creativity in their window displays. I also enjoy looking at pretty things I don't need to buy. To top it all: I love reflections. It was funny to see myself three times in the silver mannequin.
These pictures are a bit daring so to speak, your kinky imagination can go wild.

Buddha

I just heard that this picture (taken last September) will be published in a Dutch magazine about Buddhism. I'm really excited about this.
This picture was taken outside a hotel in a Dutch sea resort. There was a guy cleaning the windows and he was curious about what I was taken a picture of. When I showed him the display of my camera, he said:"Wow, you have to look and see." And that is exactly what Miksang is about.

Coffee

Coffee, I love the smell of freshly made coffee on my day off.

JC

And then all of a sudden, during my walk through centre town I saw Him. He just stood there in a seedy part of town in the window of a tourist shop. He looks peaceful and loving.

Canals

Last Saturday morning I was cycling to my friend. The weather was beautiful: the sky was blue, the sun was out and there was hardly any wind. Because I was early I had time to walk a little bit through centre town and to take pictures of the canals.

Toilet

In Photography class the assignment was to photograph your toilet at home. A bit bizarre, but the purpose was that even in the smallest room in the house you can find something worth taking pictures of.

Orange berries

I think I posted before that there is a flower shop in my street. In the gutter right in front of that shop usually lies some wasted flowers or leaves. Today it was a lot of orange berries that look like there were thrown there.

Blue Hindu god

The nice thing about walking in my street, is looking into peoples houses. In the windows you might find the most beautiful things, like this Hindu god for example.

Stedelijk museum

I went to the Stedelijk Museum last weekend. The building was under construction for ages and it's finally reopened. Here is an impression.

Yellow leaves

And look at all these yellow leaves. Aren't they a feast to look at? I love it when simple things make me happy.

Red leaf

I'm still not done with Autumn, the colours don't stop to amaze me. This bright red for example. How can you not look at it and admire it? It's right at your doorstep. I love it!

Orange leaves on bare tree

My focus today was leaves. In Miksang there are no subjects, but merely a focus of your intention. Leaves are already quite specific, normally we put our focus on colour, texture, light, space or pattern. You put your awareness on a certain area, in this case, leaves. And in autumn leaves are everywhere. Once into leaves, you start seeing them more and more. Like on this bare tree.

Floating leaves

These leaves were floating by and disappearing fast the bridge. I zoomed out my pocket camera to the maximum and took a shot, without hoping I would succeed. But I must say that what I saw, actually came across.

Autumn leaves

Ah, autumn and its colours! I notice them now more than ever. Miksang opens your availability, increases your awareness and makes you see the simple things in life. Walking around with my camera like this, just makes me happy.

Blue suede shoes

Oh, don't you just love these shoes? Especially with the red back drop, the shapes and the colour of blue are amazing. There is just no way I could walk in them.

Sunrise

sunrise at the Vondelpark

sunrise at the Vondelpark
The sun is barely up when I ride my bike to work. A couple of weeks more and I'm riding in the dark. The autumn light and golden colours of the leaves make it a joy to be up and be able to witness all this.

Shapes in water

Gazing into the water there were all kinds of colours, reflections and shapes. Everything changed every second. This scene had me hooked.

Stairway

This is a shadow from the stairs on the wall. I came climbing down and this play of light and shadow took my breath away. It really stopped me.

Fluffy

Meet our cat Fluffy. By the looks of it, he feels right at home with us, don't you agree? By showing his tummy, he's really vulnerable.

This was really a moment, 5 seconds later he was on his feet again.

My street

In this car you see a bit my street reflected. I like my street, the houses in it about a 120 years old, it's quiet but close to the main city center and the Vondelpark. We have a little front yard where I sit on summer days.
