Buddha and Shiva

As the sun was slowly sinking last night, I saw beautiful shadows emerge in the soft light of the evening. Above you see the shadow of a bottle-shaped vase on the book 'Celestial Galaxy' by Romio Shrestha. This large book depicts gorgeous mandalas painted by master painter Romio Shrestha and his team of artisan monks.

The second picture was taken of the foot and hands of Hindu deity Shiva, aka "the Destroyer" (of ego) or "the Transformer". Shiva is responsible for change, both in the form of death and destruction and in the positive sense of destroying the ego, the false identification with the form.
